Vision • Process • Performance
These three words define our coaching philosophy, and each follows from the other. You have a dream that can be molded into a clearly defined vision, then we help create a process that turns the vision into realistic goals realized through performance. To do this, we use state-of-the-art scientific methods taken from biomedical engineering, physiology, and astronaut training, and combine them with psychology and nutrition to take you to the next level (more).
What's wrong with this picture?
No, we're not yet racing triathlons or bikes in microgravity, but we've learned a lot about the parallels between endurance sports and long-term space flight aboard the International Space Station (ISS) and the potential Mission to Mars. Before becoming a full-time coach, Tom Rodgers was Lead Biomedical Software Engineer for the NASA Human Research Facility aboard the US Destiny lab on the ISS. Ground testing on astronauts using bike wattage, ultrasound, and VO2-max measurements discovered physiological parameters we can use in training for triathlons and bike races. At Endurathon coaching, we use these state-of-the-art methods in extreme physiology with the latest in networking and communications software to enhance the relationship between coach and athlete (more).
